Global Surface Intelligence (GSI), the Edinburgh-based geospatial intelligence company, has launched its first product range.
Available immediately, the GSI Now suite of geospatial intelligence products has been designed to deliver practical and measurable near-real time business intelligence on the state, condition, value and sustainability of natural and man-made assets.
There are three products in the GSI Now portfolio – CropNow, ForestNow and LandNow – which are suitable for use by a broad range of sectors and stakeholders including asset managers, commodity brokers, insurance companies, certification companies, carbon finance, corporate and institutional sustainability managers and NGOs.
The products can be used across a multitude of applications including crop identification and parametric insurance planning, identifying unauthorised deforestation, driving decarbonization and green energy adoption. However, the portfolio is not limited to this and during extensive tests has also been used to manage oil and gas pipeline security, biofuel location detection, crop trading and food security viability, sustainability adherence management, windfarm efficiency monitoring and the mapping of illegal land use.
Created by a team of specialists in environmental science, remote sensing, AI and enterprise workflow automation; GSI’s patented technology processes raw data - including optical and radar satellite imagery, fixed wing and UAV imagery and a wide range of other datasets - into valuable knowledge and insight that helps companies make informed decisions about their assets. The customer information is delivered via personalised cloud-based portals or API integration.
Gavin Tweedie, CEO of GSI commented: “Over the last 18 months, we have placed significant focus on refining our products to target key customers and sectors where we believe our products can make a real impact. Using our technology and geospatial analytics, we can create compelling economic intelligence that can be used to improve crucial business decision making.
“Each product can be configured to suit a specific application and this unique approach to delivering geospatial intelligence in a practical and reusable manner. In turn, both we and our customers will be able to scale quickly, utilising the technology more effectively and more frequently."
GSI is also committed to aligning its products to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and companies engaged in achieving their own corporate environmental, social and governance initiatives are already showing a high level of interest in how the GSI Now family of products can help.”
